Cook Time : 10 min.

Ingredients: 6

4-6 persons

Ingredients

Buckwheat Crêpes:
  • 150g Flipcrêpes Buckwheat Mix
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1.1/4 Whole Milk (Dairy-free)
Filling & Topping:
  • 8 slices of ham
  • 1 container of whipped cream cheese
  • 2-3 sprigs of fresh herbs (such as basil, parsley, or chives)

Note: Optionally replace Cream Cheese & Herbs by Boursin Cheese Spread

Crêpes Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the buckwheat mix, eggs, and whole milk until smooth.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Pour about 1/4 cup of the batter into the pan and swirl to create a thin crepe. Cook until lightly browned on both sides, then transfer to a plate. Repeat with the remaining batter until you have 8 crepes.

Hint: if the batter does not cover the pan easily, the batter may be too thick still. Add a little water/milk to the batter to calibrate and try again.

Recipe Instructions

  1. Wash and chop the fresh herbs.
  2. Spread a generous amount of whipped cream cheese evenly over each crepe.
  3. Sprinkle the chopped herbs over the cream cheese, and seam with salt & pepper (optional)
  4. Place a slice of ham on top of the herbs.
  5. Roll up each crêpe tightly, ensuring that the edges are sealed.
  6. Wrap each crêpe roll tightly in cling film and refrigerate until ready to serve.
  7. Before serving, remove the cling film and slice each crepe roll into bite-sized pieces.

The dish was named after the young prince's companion, Suzette, and became an instant hit among French aristocrats and high society.
